I'm Max Jabs, a German director and cinematographer based in Seville, Spain.
My filmmaking started with Biking Borders, a feature documentary born from a cycling journey around the world that helped raise close to half a million euros for education.
Today, I make cinematic films with real people and athletes, often in the worlds of sport and the outdoors. My work moves between documentary, branded content and commercial projects, but the centre is always the same: honest human stories, shaped with intention.

I'm drawn to stories where movement reveals something human.
Sport and the outdoors are never just about performance for me. They are places where identity, resilience, fear, confidence and change become visible.
[ Approach ]
I work close to reality, then shape it visually.
That means building trust with real people, staying open to what happens naturally, and then making clear choices with light, rhythm, composition and structure. The work should feel honest, but never accidental.
[ Field experience ]
Climbing, rope work, snowboarding, endurance sport and martial arts are part of how I move through the world. They help me work calmly in outdoor, sport and unpredictable environments. And understand the people I'm filming from a more physical place.
